The term "antigypsyism" refers to the various types of biases, prejudices, and stereotypes that drive the institutional and widespread discriminatory actions against Roma. Antigypsyism remains one of the most well rooted types of racial prejudice. Even while antigypsyism is common and frequently disregarded or accepted, the majority of its activities are unlawful and against human rights, even if they are not prosecuted.
Antigypsyism erodes society's moral foundation. In environments where prejudice is institutionalized, accepted, or readily disregarded, democracy and human rights cannot flourish. In order to resist and overcome antigypsyism, education is essential.
We have the capacity to discriminate against and impose prejudice on others because we are human. Thankfully, we have the ability to grow and adapt. Roma school and university students can help us see this trough their eyes, rectify skewed perceptions, and recognize ourselves in other people's eyes.
Come and Join the activities of Acade_Me project, share your experiences if you are educator, social worker, youth worker or professional close to student community. If you are post or current university student share your voice with us. It is the time to unite our voices.
